Looking and then eventually buying a new vehicle from Dominion Motors was a first class experience. Tracy Tran and the Dominion Motors team listened and gave great suggestions, to what I was looking for in a new vehicle. Every vehicle Tracy showed me she took the time to explain every last detail about the vehicle. She also gave me the best price possible. Tracy and the her manager also gave me great value on a trade in value. Tracy really went above and beyond in my experience to the point where she made a deal with my dad when I bought a new vehicle from Dominion Motors she would allow my dad to take a test drive in the new EV Hummer. I was travelling from southern Ontario to visit my son, and the check engine light came on in my GMC. I turned to Dominion motors for help. Joe’s team was professional and fast at diagnosing the problem. They replaced a small solenoid and got me back on the road in a very short time without a huge bill. It means everything to have peace of mind when travelling 1900km home. They treated me like a neighbour and a valued customer. They earned my trust.

The service department did their best to get me up and running especially with hard to find parts. Dan my service rep kept me updated on progress, as it was a major repair and required several hours of labor. He genuinely seemed to care about how I was dealing with the situation. It's not Dominion Motors fault, GMC continuously uses a known problematic design that will destroy your engine, set you back over $8000 and leave you without a vehicle weeks to months. Dan had looked into some assistants but There was no help from GM. Thanks for trying.But great service from all the staff at Dominion.Rob H

We had an excellent experience at Dominion Motors. Tracy T touched base with us a number of times during the process of getting the vehicle we wanted. Then she took the time to go through the vehicle operation with my wife. Finding out everything including what she didn't know before we drove off.Contrasting with another Chev/GM dealership in TB - who we we test drove with but never heard from again. Huh, I guess they figured we were window shoppers.

I came in for a repair to a tire that had a nail in it. Joe at the service counter got me in right away and everything was fixed as indicated. They also asked if they could check the vehicle for any outstanding recalls and if I would like that performed, and I said yes. Ultimately the dealership was very welcoming and accommodating, and I will most certainly be back.

I like to give my honest opinion on the experience of buying our new car at Dominion Motors company in Thunder Bay. We have been shopping around Thunder Bay for our next car for few months (lately) and it was a stressful time for as.My wife and I retired and we wanted a dependable car to have a happy retirement with no headache. So for some reason we left Dominion Motors as a last place and honestly we should start shopping there. One of thouse reasons was that we can't afford buy car there. I have to admit that we were surprised how friendly was staff and prices of GM cars affordable. Of course we didn't buying in 1 day our generation is little more cautious before we spend money. We really appreciate patients there staff had with as and they answered all questions before we made the deal. After all I have to say we had pleasant time and we are very happy we choose Dominion Motors. I like to say BIG THANK YOU to all this employees we deal with during the whole process. I will spread the word and I will recommend to allmy friends to shop at Dominion Motors. Thanks again and I am happy that I could voice my experience.

I called to book to get some break work done on my vehicle and they got me in within a couple of days. I dropped it off the night before and at 10 am the next day I received a call from Mike to let me know there was also a recall on my vehicle that they could also fix! My 2022 GMC Sierra Elevation was at Dominion Motors for a repair of a minor fender bender. The work included new front end body parts, repair, paint, and plastic body film replacement.Joe at Dominion, looked after the in house work, coordinated the repairs with my insurance claim, and even organized a rental vehicle.When I picked up my truck, all work was completed above and beyond my expectations. The interior was completely detailed, and the truck looked like brand new inside and out.Service like this is hard to come bye these days, and it is refreshing to see a dealership that actually stands behind the products they sell.

Dominion Motors was extremely efficient and helpful with my recent purchase. Spencer G. was very accomodating and was willing to answer all my questions without any hesitation. I do not know much about vehicles, and he made me feel as though there were no stupid questions and was extremely knowledgeable about the purchasing process and the vehicle itself. I brought my vehicle in as the speakers in the back were very very low. I was told that’s the way it’s supposed to be and that there is nothing wrong with them. I paid $1500 extra for the Bose sound system and the answer to me was yes they agree it’s a terrible sound but hey that’s the way it sounds. This is the second bad experience I have had at dominion motors. I wish I have another option for GMC repairs in the future.

I was in town going for an oil change and got into an accident on the way…..They made sure I was ok also checked out my vehicle to make sure it was safe to drive back home even though they were quite busy. I took my Silverado in for a service light coming on and ac not working. Was going on holidays and was assured it would be fixed in time. Brought it in on a Thursday at 8 am. and at 4pm I had not heard from them so I called and was told nothing had been done on my truck as they were short of mechanics. They wanted to keep it over night and assured me it would be done the next day . Was not possible as I was going out of town so I picked it up and was without air in 30+ weather. Was told to bring it back Mon. morning and it would be taken care of. Brought it back at 8 am Mon. morning and they fixed the sensor but not the ac. as they couldn't find a leak. Called at the end of the day to say they did find a leak but would have to order parts. They said it would be better if I could leave the truck so they take out the condenser and put the new one in when it arrived. Was going on holidays at the end of the week but I reluctantly left my truck there. Was a real inconvenience to me as I couldn't pack my truck until the last min. Was not offered a car to use or any compensation for my time lost. I also showed my bill to my local mechanic and he said the labour charges were way out of line for the work done. Over $1200.00. Needless to say I won't be back.

Paid up front for parts 800.00 and its been 4 months and my car still not fixed.Dropped car off again it was smoking,Mike service guy called told me it will be 2 weeks before they could even look at it because i did not have an appointment.Mike called today with a diagnosis after i got upset yesterday. Today he told me he has to order parts from Vancouver and it will be at least a week and a half and cost 1600.00 or more and its not drivable. They did not offer after market parts which maybe cheaper and quicker.So disappointed in Dominion service.I wont buy another.When i was at Toyota with the acadia the day before and it was smoking their mechanic came out took a look helped us and put fluid in and told me to drive it over to dominion which was across the street and dominion did not care.When buying a car or fleet trucks make sure you investigate the service department! Bad service is the worst service.I did have the bearings go on the same car 3 weeks ago and that service guy was fantastic he deemed my car undriveable and took it in and had it ready for me the next day and picked me up to get when it was done.So i had one good experience lol

Sales experience with their sales team was great. Absolutely no problems at all. Their service department, however, is problematic. They close at 5 pm, making it impossible to even get an oil change without taking an afternoon off of work. Furthermore, they stopped accepting vehicles to their quick lube bay before the posted close time. Extremely disappointing experience post purchase.

Service does good work but when I was told the price on replacing my rear brakes over the phone it was $210 less than when went to pay. I asked what was going on then was given a completely different number for price of parts plus labour and was left very confused and unhappy. Overall will not go back unless the work is covered under warranty

Dominion is not a certified Volt dealer but they came to our rescue when we broke down miles from home. They quickly diagnosed the problem and had us back on the road super fast.

Stopped in for an oil change on our way thru from out of town on a recommendation from a friend, and were not disappointed. Was super quick and everyone was very friendly.Checked up on all my other little things while it was in there, knowing we were going back on the road and my truck was towing. Super appreciated, and everything was super quick! Thing weliked the most: didnt try and overcharge me like we’ve had happen before. Will absolutely use their shop again when passing through.

My bran new car was hit by someone while I was in a store. I had my car taken here and they did not do all the repairs to the car and what little they did they rushed though it. They filled a fender with body fill instead of putting a new one on (was told by another shop that it was body fill). When they put it back on the lines on the car was not lined up. There are still around 30 dints/ scratches on the hood that never got fixed. My lights are out of alignment. To top it all off my car now pulls to the right. I took the car back there and showed them everything. They told me “oh you have to wait till Joe comes back”. And at this time he had been off 2 weeks out of the 4 weeks my car was at Dominion motors. I will never take my car back to this place or buy another vehicle here. I was also told by them that their shop was rated number 1 in Northern Ontario, I looked it up and they are not even on the list.

I will update my rating when I get my vehicle back and I assess how it gets handled.. not impressed that my transmission is gone after only 130,000km.. I have always maintained my vehicle at dominions and have never driven my truck hard as I intended it to last.. and now that this has happened the customer service you first get when buying a vehicle has dropped tremendously. I am hearing many other horror stories of people leaving this dealership for this reason as I continue to share my experience so far with others.

I had a vehicle issue that required three visits in 7 weeks for diagnosis and repair. Had to wait for a part to be ordered which was fine: only concern is lack of communication when the part came in: I called myself to inquire if it was in, then was booked 2 weeks later for repair. This delayed the use of my car starter in cold weather (when the check engine light is on it prevents the car starter from working). Another concern is lack of shuttle service. Purchasing a vehicle over 75K and requiring service should automatically ensure your customers are taken care of transportation wise to get to and from work. They blamed lack of shuttle on “Covid” when the first time I had servicing done there was a driver to pick me up from work?The dealership my husband deals with has shuttle services, and has had them during Covid.

After waiting months of waiting for an ordered truck, I was able to talk to Jay about moving my hold over to a truck they had on the lot. Fortunetly they had a truck almost identical to my order on the lot, and was able to switch everything over and pick up the truck within a day. Last week my wife and I were on an extended camping trip through the Thunder Bay area and I had noted that one of the tire studs had broken off my truck tire. As this was a safety issue as I was pulling a travel trailer so I wanted to get this repaired ASAP. I contacted one service shop in TB and they said I could leave my truck with them. No guarantee when it would be fixed. So I called Dominion Motors and spoke with Dan. He immediately recognized the serious nature of the issue and told be to bring the truck in the next day. Well we arrived early the next day and I spoke with the service coordinator and he had my truck in for repair immediately. He even gave me some treats for my dog! Well I was back on the road in under 2 hours with peace of mind. My experience with the service department at Dominion Motors in Thunder Bay was second to none. Highly recommended.

Every single person I interacted with over the phone was amazing. We live 12 hours away and my daughter is in Thunder Bay for school. They helped me set-up a tow and make the experience almost non stressful for her. The car was ready 2 days before they told me they could even look at it. She even texted me after picking up the car and comment how nice everyone was to her. Thanks to Mike and the crew for looking after my kid and fixing the car right the first time!
