Job Duties:

  • Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed Clean and maintain work space

Job Description

Repair Planner. The main Job for the auto body apprentice/repair planner position consists of three general areas. One is the dismantling and reassembling of customers vehicles for insurance estimates including photos of damage and the repair and reassemble of certain repair as per management. Two is the detailing of the customers cars prior to them receiving their vehicle. Essentially the last set of hands on the customers car. It is a very department in our chain of process and procedure. And the last portion is the pickup and delivery of customers cars and dealer cars for our Valet program with one of our DRP partners and with our dealer group. Again, a very essential role for the company as you will be the face of Simplicity when meeting with both our customers and our dealer contacts when exchanging repairs and rentals.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Pick up and deliver rentals and customer cars for out Valet Program
  • Detail vehicles for delivery
  • Polish out small scratches and scuffs or any small paint corrections that must be done.
  • Prewash and dry vehicle, then prepare vehicle for visual mapping
  • Outline all UPD’s (Unrelated Prior Damages)
  • Complete all Repair Planning forms
  • Print vehicle ID sheet and tape to interior of windshield/back glass and parts carts.
  • Take pictures of Lic. Plate, VIN, Milage, 4 corners, UPD’s and primary impact, photos for insurance estimates
  • Check light bulb for functionality (change if required)
  • Check electrical
  • Windows (do them all for up and down smoothly?)
  • Door locks (all 4 lock/unlock)
  • Dashboard lights
  • Radio (functionality, do all stations have clear visual?)
  • A/C (is it working? If not, is it related to the loss?)
  • Conduct full disassembly and contact manager and a tech for damage verification

  • Ensure that 100% broken pieces have been removed and itemized at time of first appraisal. (Placed on the appropriate parts cart shelf as per our Repair Plan Grid)

  • Ensure that drivable repair plans are completed in an hour 100% of the time.
  • Ensure that all damages (directly/indirectly) are captured at initial inspection 100% of the time.

Position Title: Auto Body Technician

Reports To: General Manager

Payband: $25.00 per hour starting and then $21.00 flat rate + Benefits

Position Summary

The Auto Body Technician is responsible for processing vehicle repairs based on Simplicity Car Care’s best practices and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Auto Body Technician will work in the Body/Frame department in providing that vehicles are repaired as quickly as possible in a safe and quality manner, with a fit and finish that meets or exceeds the original factory fit and finish. The result should be an invisible repair.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a repair vs replace metric of 70% month over month and quarter over quarter
  • Ensure 100% of broken parts are itemized in the initial Repair Plan for every vehicle.
  • Ensure the Repair Planner has disassembled a drivable Repair Plan in 30 mins so that the Lead technician and General Manager can review it.
  • Lead by an example while working in the collision centre
  • Act as a coach for all the apprentices working at that site.
  • Complete all Body Repairs in 180 Grit Sand Paper
  • Follow and complete the Quality Control documents provided to the team by the manager
  • Inspect all Repair Plans for estimated accuracy (drivable and non-drivable).
  • Ensure that body and frame repairs are completed to the OE specifications itemized in the OE procedures
  • Pre-fit parts on vehicles before completing the repairs
  • Ensure all parts on the Job Worksheet are replaced, and all panels bid to repair are repaired.
  • Ensure that all tools are being used safely
  • Ensure that vehicles on the frame machine are either P-4’d or tied down for maximum efficiency and safety.

Position Summary

The Refinish Technician is responsible for processing vehicle repairs based on Simplicity Car Care’s best practices and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Refinish Technician will lead the refinish department in ensuring that vehicles are refinished as quickly as possible in a safe and quality manner, with a fit and finish that meets or exceeds the original factory fit and finish. The result should be an invisible repair.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete all repair assignments according to the methods and objectives outlined in the chapter titled Paint Shop Procedures.
  • In addition to basic hand tools such as air sanders, air ratchet, spray guns, sanding blocks, etc., you must also provide the minimum required tools and equipment listed in the chapter titled Painter’s Prep Cart and Inventory.
  • Inspect every vehicle as it enters the paint shop from the metal department, to ensure that it has passed all previous inspections and standards.
  • Immediately notify the appropriate person of any hidden or missed damage that doesn’t appear on the Work Order.
  • Be responsible and accountable for all parts for any jobs that are assigned to you. Be organized and develop a system for holding the parts until they are installed on the vehicle.
  • Whenever paint is mixed for jambing or cut in, make certain that enough material is mixed for the entire job, and that it is clearly labeled and stocked for easy access when the vehicle enters the paint shop.
  • Be certain that every job is checked for color match prior to the vehicle entering the spray booth. Each mixing and matching process should include spraying out a test panel.
  • Conduct any buffing necessary to your own paint work. This is intended to make each painter responsible for the efforts involved in the preparation and cleaning of jobs prior to painting. This also includes the work performed by others involved in the preparation, like apprentices and helpers.
  • Ensure that all spray operations are complete, all masking is removed, and all prior paint-related disassembly has been reassembled prior to returning the vehicle to the metal shop or detail shop for final assembly and get-ready.
  • You should remain conscious of, and make every effort to achieve the objectives outlined on the delivery list of cars scheduled. Sometimes this requires working overtime to meet the objectives.
  • Upon completion of a job or nearing completion of a job, advise the production manager and request a new assignment.
  • Maintain a good work attitude and cooperate with managers and fellow employees in a positive spirit of teamwork.

The Regional Performance Manager (RPM), reporting to the Vice President, Operational Excellence & Technology, is a critical part of Simplicity Car Care’s success. They represent Simplicity’s brand and values, support the franchisees and shop performance, deliver on the annual Operations business plan and goals, strengthen insurance partnerships via Performance-Based Agreements (PBA), and ultimately drive our Net Promoter Score (NPS).

The successful candidate will be responsible for the Quebec and Atlantic regions. The successful candidate must be situated within Quebec or the Atlantic regions with the expectation of working-from-home as well as travelling to and from shops. Compensation includes a base salary as well as a performance-based bonus. Allowance will be provided and expenses will be reimbursed to cover travel.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Overseeing and mentor Field Conversion Managers (FCMs) as it relates to onboarding new shops and maintaining operational excellence
  2. Training and certifying shops around Simplicity standards, best-practices, and insurer Performance-Based Agreements (PBAs)
  3. Driving further performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement within shops through Gross Profit Improvement (GPI), performance improvement plans, training, and corporate programs
  4. Strengthen relationships with our franchisees by regularly engaging and advising them on Simplicity goals, their business plans, and opportunities to advance shop performance
  5. Auditing and ensuring shops are compliant to the Franchise Evaluation Report (FER), health & safety, preferred vendor adoption, and regulatory requirements e.g. provincial labor and environmental legislation
  6. Manage supply chain and vendor partners on behalf of Simplicity Car Care, inclusive of Estimatic firms, Paint Manufacturers and Distributors, Parts Vendors (OE/APU), and rental car partners
  7. Assisting Simplicity and shops with recruiting, identifying, and develop talent
  8. Managing and de-escalating insurance, client, and franchisee complaints
  9. Additional duties as required in ensuring Simplicity’s and shops’ operations

Qualifications:

  • Auto collision industry experience at both a field and corporate/headquarters level
  • Relevant training in collision repair, business, or operations e.g. I-Car, James Maxwell leadership series, BComm or diplomma, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • 5 to 7 years of progressively more responsible management experience
  • Prior experience as a collision center general manager or shop owner—overseeing and developing techs painters, or other staff is an asset
  • Working knowledge of Summit or BodyShop Connect, Mitchell Repair Center, Autadex, Progi is an asset
  • Experience onboarding new shops, process, and/or tools. Project management certification is an asset

Le directeur régional de la performance (RPM), qui relève du Vice-Président, Excellence Opérationnelle et Technologie, est un élément essentiel du succès de Simplicity Car Care. Ils représentent la marque et les valeurs de Simplicity, soutiennent les franchisés et les performances des magasins, réalisent le plan d'affaires et les objectifs annuels des opérations, renforcent les partenariats d'assurance via des accords basés sur la performance (PBA) et, en fin de compte, stimulent notre Net Promoter Score (NPS).

Le candidat retenu sera responsable des régions du Québec et de l'Atlantique. Le candidat retenu doit être situé au Québec ou dans les régions de l'Atlantique et s'attendre à travailler à domicile ainsi qu'à se déplacer vers et depuis les magasins. La rémunération comprend un salaire de base ainsi qu'une prime basée sur la performance. Une indemnité sera fournie et les dépenses seront financées pour couvrir les frais de déplacement.

Les responsabilités comprennent:

  1. Superviser et encadrer les gestionnaires de conversion sur le terrain (FCM) en ce qui concerne l'intégration de nouveaux magasins et le maintien de l'excellence opérationnelle
  2. Former et certifier les ateliers autour des normes Simplicity, des meilleures pratiques et des accords basés sur la performance (PBA) des assureurs
  3. Stimuler la performance, l'efficacité et l'amélioration continue dans les magasins grâce à l'amélioration de la marge brute (GPI), aux plans d'amélioration de la performance, à la formation et aux programmes d'entreprise
  4. Renforcer les relations avec nos franchisés en les engageant et en les conseillant régulièrement sur les objectifs de Simplicity, leurs plans d'affaires et les opportunités d'améliorer les performances de la boutique
  5. Auditer et s'assurer que les magasins sont conformes au rapport d'évaluation de la franchise (FER), à la santé et à la sécurité, à l'adoption du fournisseur préféré et aux exigences réglementaires, par ex. législation provinciale du travail et de l'environnement
  6. Gérer la chaîne d'approvisionnement et les partenaires fournisseurs au nom de Simplicity Car Care, y compris les entreprises Estimatic, les fabricants et distributeurs de peinture, les fournisseurs de pièces (OE/APU) et les partenaires de location de voitures
  7. Assister Simplicity et les magasins dans le recrutement, l'identification et le développement des talents
  8. Gérer et désamorcer les plaintes des assurances, des clients et des franchisés
  9. Tâches supplémentaires requises pour assurer les opérations de Simplicity et des magasins

 

Qualifications:

  • Expérience dans l'industrie des collisions automobiles sur le terrain et au niveau de l'entreprise/du siège social
  • Formation pertinente en réparation de collision, en affaires ou en opérations, p. I-Car, James Maxwell leadership series, BComm ou diplôme, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • 5 à 7 ans d'expérience en gestion de plus en plus responsable
  • Expérience antérieure en tant que directeur général d'un centre de collision ou propriétaire d'atelier - la supervision et le développement de techniciens peintres ou d'autres membres du personnel sont un atout
  • Connaissance pratique de Summit ou BodyShop Connect, Mitchell Repair Center, Autadex, Progi est un atout
  • Expérience d'intégration de nouveaux ateliers, processus et/ou outils. La certification en gestion de projet est un atout
  • Capacité à voyager
  • Maîtrise du français parlé et écrit (bilingue)
